I provide the appropriate intervention, level of support and/or supervision to support the goals of the persons served, to ensure their optimal health and safety and to assist them to be integrated into his/her community and/or least restrictive environment.
I also serve as a volunteer on an internal communications committee for the Westlake Campus.
I worked in a group home in Holland, MI, providing 1 to 1 and direct care supports to an individuals challenged by physical disability and mental illness. Established a safe shower protocol for 1 to 1 supports. Established documentation and set goals for helping an individual improve shower efficiency. Established Fun Friday scheduling to meet the unique needs and interests expressed by an individual seeking intellectual and arts/music experiences.
Provided community living supports to individuals who have autism.
Assisted adults with severe mental illness living in a long-term residential treatment facility.
Supervised and trained employees with barriers to employment to develop their work skills for competitive settings.
Wrap Around Mentor, Children’s Advocacy Center/Children’s Resource Network Provided mentoring to at-risk children and youth encouraging them to work toward positive outcomes. The Wrap Around Program is a county initiative and the program originally began with an agency called Children’s Resource Network where I worked from 1998 2004.
